What's Happening. (Weekend of 07/20)

All kinds of good stuff is going on this weekend. In fact I wrote up a nice post to give everyone the heads up. It was one of the greatest posts ever, hilarious descriptions, awesome photos and useful info on the events.

Unfortunately no one will ever see it thanks to this piece of crap blogger interface. When I added the pictures the formatting went to hell and after countless seconds of trying to fix it I just decided to delete it and give you this worthless piece of shit post instead.

If I can ever be cured of my laziness I'll get this blog ported over to word press so I can rock some CSS formating.

What's Happening. (Weekend of 06/29)

I won't be around this weekend since I am trying out that new vacationing trend that been going around 24 Hour Trips but there are still several good events going down.

Cleveland Wine Festival - 6/29 -4p - 10p - 6/30 - 2P -10P - Voinovich Park (Near the Rock Hall)
A portion of the festival’s proceeds will benefit the Bright Side of the Road Foundation. The non-profit organization was founded by Clevelander Barry Winovich to help find a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), the devastating disease commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

More Wine Fest Info

Howl At the Moon Wine Tasting - 6/30 - Colonial Beverage - Damn more wine but this one has all you can eat food.

This Saturday evening, taste over 25 wines, listen to live music and check out Chef Robert's hot and cold culinary delights during this all you can eat event. Cost is Only $20

Colonial Beverage
8389 Mayfield Road
Chesterland, Ohio 44026

Cleveland Indians - The tribe is home all weekend and the weather is going to be perfect. I suggest buying the cheapest tickets you can and hang out at the Batter's Eye in center field. It is the bar in the picture and it is a blast during games. I'll be attending Sunday's game.

Grand Prix Recap

The Grand Prix was awesome as always but this year it rocked even more thanks to Blur reader and tipster Brian. He was kind enough to hook me up with great seats and some pit passes. Watching from the pit was great, I was able to get within a few feet of the track.

It was a great day filled with great racing and cold beer. If you did not take my advise and skipped the race you really missed out. Check out the photos and video for a small sample of what you missed. Excuse the quality of the video, it is from my cell phone.

What's Happening. (Weekend of 06/22)

BBBBQ -6/23 - 4:30P - ? - The beer bash barbeque is this Saturday and everyone is invited for free food, beer and fun. I am not going to reveal the location but if you can figure it out from the photo, good show.

Cleveland Grand Prix - 6/22-6/24 - Hours vary - Open wheel racing screams into Cleveland this weekend.

If you are NASCAR fan don't bother showing up for this race. The cars move much too quickly for you and the races are not fixed.

However if you enjoy fast cars, exciting racing and cold beer this is the event for you.
I went to this race the first time about 10 years ago and I was blown away by the speed of these cars. When they go around turns it looks fake, think of K.I.T.T. turning a corner in turbo pursuit mode and you'll know what I am talking about.

The weather is going to perfect all weekend so get your ass down to the race, track me down and buy me a beer.

What's Happening. (Weekend of 06/08)

Zippity Zoo Doo - 6/8 - 6P - Yet another zoo event, if you have not noticed by now I like the zoo. This one is pricey and I have never been to it so I don't know if it rocks or not. Tickets run $200 per person so I think I am going to skip it this year. If someone does attend let me know how it is.

Zoo Support - This is not a official event but the weekend weather is supposed to be awesome so get out and walk around the zoo. I'll be there Saturday for sure and I recommend buying a season pass. It only cost $50 and it gets you and a guest in free for a year.

Cavs Finals - The retarded NBA scheduled all of the games with a 9P tip off and none of the games are on a weekend night (Friday/Saturday). There is a game this Sunday 6/10 @ 9P, bullshit.

What's Happening. (Weekend of 05/11)

While I am sure there is plenty of stuff going on this weekend I have to take the weekend off. The last few weeks have been a real blur. I don't remember much but I know I was having fun and spending tons of cash. So this weekend I am just going to crash, I am looking forward to about 30 hours of sleep, 5 times more than I normally get in a weekend. If there are any note worthy events this weekend post them in comments.

What's Happening. (Weekend of 04/27)

This will be the best weekend ever. Forget the draft and the NBA playoffs a bridge demolition is going down this Saturday.

The Fulton Rd. bridge (the one that crosses over the Cleveland Zoo) will be destroyed with explosives this Saturday (4/28) at 8A.

I will definitely be going to watch this. The suggested viewing area is the park area on John Nagy Blvd. which is off Ridge Rd. north of 480. I am going to do some recon and see if we can get a better view from the neighborhood to the north east of the park. I'll post my findings when I get them.

The park opens at 6A so I want to arrive there or the alternate location around that time to get the best viewing spot. If anyone wants to join me we can meet up at the Ihop on Brookpark just west of Tiedeman @ 5:30A for some tasty eats before we hit the park.

I would also like to get video and still images of this event so I could use your help. The first lucky reader to comment on this post then make it to Ihop gets a free breakfast and gets to be camera person for the day. See you all Saturday.

What's Happening. (Weekend of 04/20)

World Party - The Cleveland Zoo - Sun - 10A - 5P - This is kind of a hippy Earth Day type of event but it is at the zoo so I am down.
In addition to the hundreds of exhibits on display, folks can pick up a tree to plant in their yard, hear live music, and watch awe-inspiring tricks performed by zoo animals. And there'll be green-home designs, which show visitors how to light and heat their abodes naturally.

NBA Playoffs - Start Saturday at 12:30P the Cavs don't play until Sunday. I'll be downtown Sunday for the game.

What's Happening. (Weekend of 04/13)

St. Mark Texas Hold'em Tournaments - 4/13-4/14
I don't like playing Texas hold'em but this does benefit a church built in my honor so I urge you to attend.

Cleveland Indians Home Opener, Take 2- 4/13-8P - I am Actually planning on going into the game this time but of course I will be hitting the bars before and after. If the lovely ladies that bought me beers at the Thirsty Parrot are reading this, I'll be at the Parrot again and you can buy me some more beers.

If anyone has any suggestions for Saturday or Sunday post them in the comments.

What's Happening. (Weekend of 4/06)

If you are a sport's fan this weekend is for you.

Cleveland Indian's Home Opener - 4/6 - 4P - I'll be downtown somewhere. The weather is supposed to suck so I'll probably just be watching @ a bar.

The Masters - The tournament starts Thursday but I don't normally tune in until the weekend rounds. I'll be watching from my favorite watering hole Panini's in Sagamore Hills Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Lastly this Sunday is Easter for some people. Happy Easter to those that celebrate it.
